2021 Musso Valter Barbera d'Alba Doc 0.75 Ltr. Rosso
picture of

This wine is one of the references in the area of Barbera in Piedmont. Intense garnet red color with ruby red hue. Fruity nose with lots of red fruits, notions of imposed cherries, a hint of roasted wood and a touch of vanilla and cinnamon. Opulent and nicely balanced taste where fruit, alcohol and structure form a beautiful whole and offer a guarantee for aging. Top wine!

Elegant match of classic meat dishes, (especially with veal and pork), various tapas, pasta with a variety of sauces and an extensive range of cheeses.

climate

The climate of Barbaresco is classified as warm and temperate with regular and sometimes a lot of rainfall. Rain falls regularly even in the driest month. Both the mountains and the Mediterranean sea leave their mark on the region.

soil

Vineyard facing south-west at an altitude of 240-270m. One of the oldest vineyards of Musso located in the Rio Sordo. White soils with a lot of limestone and partially reinforced by layers of clay.

vinification

Grapes are carefully picked by hand and then gently pressed. The fermentation is then started in 2 ways. Half goes in stainless tanks and the other half in large wooden barrels of 500 liters. Afterwards everything is blended again in the best ratio according to the year. The wine first goes into wooden barrels of 500 liters for a few months, after which it is pumped into larger barrels of 2 hectoliters where it matures for another year. Afterwards, the wine is bottled and it rests on the bottle for half a year before it comes to market.
